Widely varied collection of collotypes, engravings, card photographs, one glass plate, and souvenir travel picture albums. Geographic groups include 50 large-format views of the Holy Land, [ca. 1920s]; the Hudson River; New York City; Durham, N.C. and other North Carolina cities and counties; Virginia; New England; Italian cities; Netherlands; and England. Photographs of Naples, New York, and Liverpool are from late World War II. There are also photographs of African-American communities, Civil War monuments, North Carolina Mutual Insurance Company, Louisiana State University, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Includes photographs related to Hugh Mangum, Durham photographer. Documented events include Confederate reunions, the Jamestown Exposition (1904), a military parade in El Paso, and various school gatherings.
